A road sweeper has sustained serious injuries after being crashed into by a motorbike in Pattaya early this morning (December 25th).
The Pattaya City Police was notified of the accident at 3:00 A.M. on Sukhumvit Road in Nongprue.
Emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a Thai female, aged around 30. No identification was found with her. She had sustained serious head injuries and was bleeding heavily on the road. She was being attended to by a second road sweeper who was working with her.
Nearby, Pattaya Police found a damaged motorbike and the driver, Ms. Parinya Seehapanya, 44, who had broken her arm but was calm despite the situation.
A witness, who is also a road sweeper and asked not to be named, told police that they were cleaning the road as usual when the motorbike slammed into the other road sweeper at high speed. The Pattaya News notes that the road sweepers were wearing standard reflective vests as part of their uniform.
