Banglamung nurse seriously injured after her car crashes into trailer truck

A nurse has sustained serious injuries after her sedan slammed into a trailer truck in Banglamung last night (December 23rd).

Lieutenant Colonel Sittawat Chawakornteanrat of the Banglamung Police was notified of the accident at 11:00 P.M. on Sukhumvit Road in Banglamung.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to to find the heavily damaged sedan on the road.

Nearby, rescue workers found the slightly damaged trailer truck.

Ms. Patchareeya Wiriyananta, 30, a nurse from the Banglamung Hospital was found alive despite the severe damage to the vehicle inside the sedan. She had sustained serious injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance.

The trailer truck driver, Mr. Soo Ruengjarin, 68, who was not injured, told police, “I was in the right lane intending to make a U-turn.”

“The sedan, which was driving at very high speed in the right lane, crashed into my truck from behind despite my use of proper lights and turn signals.” Soo claimed.

Banglamung police are checking CCTV footage to follow up on Mr. Ruengjarin’s statements and determine the exact sequence of events.
