Prime Minister of Thailand to hold special CCSA session tomorrow morning to discuss possible further Covid-19 measures, National lockdown NOT on agenda

Thailand-

The Thai Prime Minister, Prayut Chan O’Cha, is scheduled to meet with the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration, or CCSA, tomorrow morning to discuss further potential measures to control the recent cluster of Covid-19 that has broken out in Thailand recently, centered at a shrimp market in Samut Sakhon.

The announcement of the meeting was made by a government spokesperson earlier this evening. However, quashing incessant rumors, multiple government sources have stated that a National Lockdown is currently not on the agenda.

The Prime Minister spoke to the nation last evening, December 22nd, stating that he planned to speak with the CCSA this week and discuss tougher measures, without going into exactly what those measures are. Several areas, including Samut Sakhon, have gone into a strict lockdown with non essential business closed and gatherings banned.

The Pattaya News will report tomorrow morning on what, if any, measures are taken or agreed upon by the CCSA tomorrow.
