More details and timelines of two patients in Nakhon Pathom discovered yesterday was revealed by Provincial Public Health officials today, December 21st.
Two new cases of Covid-19 in the province was announced yesterday, both linked directly to an outbreak at a shrimp market in Samut Sakhon. Read the previous coverage below.
Two new cases of Covid-19 found in Nakhon Pathom, linked to shrimp market in Samut Sakhon
The first case is a 21-year-old male patient who frequently traveled to the shrimp market in Samut Sakhon on the 11th, 13th, 15th, 16th December to sell his shrimps being collected from his house in Kamphaeng Saen district.
He mostly traveled back and forth from his home to the market but only went to a big gathering of a birthday party on December 17th. He tested positive for the Covid-19 Coronavirus on December 19th after being asked by the provincial health authorities.
The second case is a 48-year-old female merchant from Nakhon Chai Si district who also routinely visited the shrimp market for her seafood business on the 7th, 12th, and 16th to 18th December.
The patient reportedly traveled to Ratchaburi for dinner on December 10 and to a temple in Ayutthaya on December 15. She also went to work as a vendor at a weekend market in Wat Sai of the Nakhon Chai Si district on December 18 before having a Covid-19 test, following the public health authorities’ request, on the following day and found positive for the virus.
Both of them are being isolated at a local hospital under the close supervision of Public Health officials. Meanwhile, Nakhon Pathom Hospital recently restricts any visitors at the hospital to prevent the possible spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus.
As of this afternoon, a third case of a locally transmitted patient has been identified in the province. A 57-year-old woman tested positive for the Covid-19 Coronavirus today and is being isolated and investigated for more details by public health authorities. She reportedly traveled to a fresh market in the Samut Sakhon province.
