Samut Prakan –

Samut Prakan governor, Chatchai Uthaipan, confirmed three new cases of Covid-19 Coronavirus this afternoon, December 20th, including two migrant workers from Laos and a Thai national.

The three were reportedly working at the Samut Sakhon market, where more than 500 infected cases were rapidly discovered yesterday, from the 13th to the 14th of December.

All of them are currently being isolated at a local hospital. Approximately 11 close contacts of the patients are considered in a high-risk group and are being quarantined and tested for the Covid-19 test under the jurisdiction of authorities from the provincial public health office. Authorities have asked for calm and said the fact cases are being linked and discovered from the initial cluster shows that the testing and tracing system is working properly. Samut Sakhon is under a lockdown order until January 3rd due to the current situation.

The cases, according to the governor, were linked to a fresh seafood market in Samut Sakhon. The previous story can be found below. Meanwhile, more details on the timeline and information on these cases will be updated as soon as they are available.
