TAT officially launches “Single Journey” tourism routes for single Thai tourists to travel domestically during pandemic

Bangkok –

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a collection of new “Single Journey” tours in nine routes around Thailand designed for single travelers to promote domestic tourism among Thai tourists during the global pandemic of Covid-19.

The project – organized under the partnership of Thai Smile Airways, leading online dating application Tinder, and travel and lifestyle Facebook page Sneak Out – is developed after TAT has been looking for unique tourist attractions to attract more tourists in more specific groups to travel in the country.

It primarily targets solo Thai travelers who prefer to travel alone and aims to encourage about 7 million people who will generate a domestic income of 100 million baht, said Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT executive director of tourism products.

Nine “Single Journey” tour routes at destinations around Thailand are planned, including Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai, Lop Buri-Saraburi, Si Sa Ket-Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani-Loei, Chumphon-Surat Thani, Phuket, Ayutthaya, and Bangkok.

Initially, TAT and its partner are organizing three pilot tours for interested single applicants in Bangkok, Phuket-Phang Nga, and Lopburi province, starting this December.

The first trip takes place on December 20, highlighting the beauty of Chao Praya River and famous riverside temples in Bangkok. Single Thai Travelers will be on board for sightseeing with Grand Pearl Cruise, Bangkok’s famous Chao Phraya River, before being taken to nine temples for a merit-based tour hosted by Thailand’s renowned fortune-teller and Feng Shui expert Chang-Tosaporn Sritula, who will share tips on how to pay homage to Buddha and ask for blessings. The full-day trip includes a cruise dinner and is free-of-charge for the first 100 registered travelers.

The second trip is on January 9, 2021, available for 50 single Thais at 222 Baht per person. Tourists are invited to join a beachside party and concert, organized by Love Andaman travel organizer, at Koh Khai in Phangnga and Phuket.

The third trip is held on January 23, 2021, available for 50 single domestic tourists at a price of 555 Baht per person. It is an exclusive train tour in cooperation with the State Railway of Thailand to Pasak Jolasid Dam in Lopburi with a meal included.

Additional trips are respectively planned in Pattaya, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Ayutthaya, Loei, and Surat Thani. The launch date for the registration of each trip will be officially announced later.
