A truck driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after his ten wheel truck slammed into a much larger container truck in Mueang Chonburi.
The Mueang Chonburi Police was notified of the accident this morning on a Motorway in the Nong Kangkok sub-district.
Rescue workers and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a ten wheel truck carrying soil had crashed into a larger container trailer truck.
The soil truck driver, Mr. Nikit Udom, age was not given, was stuck inside the cab. It took about half an hour for rescue workers to free him out with a jaw of life however, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The container trailer truck driver Mr. Weerachai Eiampaojeen, 65 was waiting for police at the scene and was not injured.
Witnesses told The Pattaya News that the container truck was going up on a bridge before allegedly crossing in front of the soil truck which was going down from the same bridge.
Police said the container trailer truck driver is facing charges of reckless driving causing death. Mr. Weerachai declined to give a statement to The Pattaya News.
