TIMELINE: One more Thai woman confirmed with Covid-19 in Chiang Rai, three cases in total now connected to illegal Myanmar crossing

The Chiang Rai COVID–19 center today (November 30th) has revealed the timeline of  two Thai woman confirmed with Covid-19 in Chiang Rai.

They are both connected to a prior case announced over the weekend. You can read more about these cases below:

The Thai woman, aged 26 from Khun Tan, Chiang Rai, worked at the same nightclub in Tha Kilek, Myanmar with a previous confirmed case in Chiang Mai. She reportedly had symptoms of Covid-19 on November 25th while in Myanmar.

The woman then crossed the natural border into Thailand without going into quarantine with her Thai female friend, 23 from Payao who has also tested positive with COVID-19.

On November 27th, they went to a hotel in Mae Sai by a taxi motorbike. They stayed at separate rooms.

They went out at night to a gas station by a motorbike of a hotel staffer.

On November 28th, the 26 years old woman went out from the hotel. She stopped at a phone shop near the hotel before going into the Mueang District by a taxi motorbike for a COVID-19 test.

Also on November 28th, the 23 year old woman stayed at the hotel but ordered food delivery.

Yesterday (November 29th) she started to have symptoms before public health officers who had traced her from her two friends took her from the hotel to a hospital for a COVID – 19 test where she also tested positive.
