Mysterious fire destroys mattresses at furniture shop in Pattaya

Pattaya-

A mysterious fire destroyed several old mattresses at a furniture shop in Pattaya over the weekend.

Fire fighters were notified of the fire after midnight on Sunday (November 22nd) at a furniture shop in Naklua.

Firefighters and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the fire was ablaze on several old mattresses sitting out front of the furniture shop. It took about ten minutes to control the fire. Three mattresses were damaged in total.

The furniture shop owner, Mr. Kamonwat Rasa, 27, told The Pattaya News, “I was sleeping in the shop. Local residents nearby shouted loudly waking me up to warn of the fire.”

“I used some water from my building trying to put out the fire on the old mattresses while waiting for fire fighters to arrive.”

“It was quite lucky that the fire was quickly placed under control without further damage to my shop.” Kamonwat concluded.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Pattaya City fire investigation officials.
