Boat catches fire at Pattaya bay – VIDEO

A speed boat caught fire at Pattaya Bay last night, alarming residents and tourists who could see the fire on the nearby beach. (November 18th).

Captain Niwat Pengkane of The Pattaya City Police was notified of the fire at 8:00 P.M. Police, Pattaya Marine officers, emergency responders and The Pattaya News rushed to the scene.

The speed boat in the sea, which was carrying goods and food to a nearby floating restaurant was heavily ablaze. Firefighters working with the Pattaya Marine Department quickly put out the fire.


The boat engine suffered extreme damage. The boat was brought back to shore by officials and the Marine Department. No one was reported injured in the incident.

The boat captain was a Cambodian whose name and age was not provided and managed to escape injury.   The Chonburi Forensic Police have yet to identify the cause of fire.
