Deputy Minister of Public Health Satit Pituthecha hosted the event at IconSiam in Bangkok, stating that Covid-19 had changed people’s lifestyles, including the way they utilized public toilets.  He stressed that putting emphasis on clean and available public toilets was an important part of the post Covid-19 future.

The theme of the event was “New Normal Public Toilet For All”.

The director-general of the Department of Health also stated at the seminar that the top three toilets for cleanliness, in terms of fields, based on online polls and assessments conducted by the Department were the following: Fuel stations at 68%, Shopping malls at 58% and hospitals at a distant third at 21%.

Awards were given to business owners for those who had “world class toilets”. The seminar also focused on best practices for owners of large venues, like shopping malls, on how to properly keep large numbers of toilets clean, especially in the Covid-19 era.
