Communication cables catch fire, cause temporary black out in Pattaya area

Pattaya-

Communication cables caught fire in Pattaya this morning and caused a power outage in some parts of the city.

Pattaya firefighters were notified of the fire at the Mach Chanu Intersection on Pattaya Second Road in Jomtien at 10:00 AM.

Firefighters with multiple fire engines arrived at the scene to find the fire was already ablaze and spreading across mostly communication wires.

It took about fifteen minutes to put out and control the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.

Electricity was shut off while staff from the Provincial Electric Authority office worked on cable repairs.

The exact cause has not been determined by authorities at this time. No injuries were reported from the incident.
