Motorbike driver seriously injured by suspected intoxicated driver in Si Racha


Si Racha, Chonburi-

A motorbike driver sustained serious injuries in Si Racha early this morning after being hit by a sedan whose driver was detained and taken to a hospital to have their blood tested for alcohol.

The Sattahip Police were notified of the accident at 1:00 AM on the Sattahip – Pattaya Road in Sattahip.

Police and the Sawang Rojjana Thammasatan Sattahip rescue team arrived at the scene to find a heavily damaged motorbike on the road.


The motorbike driver, Mr. Samran Bandam, 50, was found unconscious with head and hip injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance.

A damaged sedan was found fifty meters away on the side of the road. The driver, Jantraphon Sangjan, 23, was not injured.


She was smiling and seemed jovial and happy despite the accident and was holding her license plate for police to take her photos. She told police that she had just come back from a restaurant.

At this stage Si Racha police charged her with reckless driving causing injuries and damage.

Police took her to a hospital for an alcohol blood test based on her behavior for further potential legal action.
