A thirty-seven-year-old man is in critical condition after suffering from a gunshot wound in Nongprue this afternoon (Oct 12).
The Nongprue Police were notified of the incident at 5:30 PM at a local shop near a shipyard on the side of the Thung Klom – Tanman Road.
Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find an injured man, Mr. Son Kuengsamrong, 37, from Kanjanaburi. He is a staffer at the shipyard.
A bullet wound was found to be just below his rib cage and bleeding heavily. He was rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance.
A truck driver and witness to the aftermath of the incident, Mr. Arthit Rodboontham, 38, told The Pattaya News that he saw the injured lying in front of the local shop while driving by. He stopped his truck and provided assistance for the man, calling for emergency rescue staff.
Police are continuing their investigation and hunting for the suspect as well as reviewing CCTV in the vicinity. They are unsure what sparked the incident at this time as there were no direct witnesses to the shooting.
