Four injured from gunshot wounds in Chonburi nightclub parking lot shooting

Four people sustained injuries in a night club parking lot shooting early yesterday morning in Mueang Chonburi.

Police were notified of the incident at 2:00 AM yesterday at a night club in the Bang Plasoi sub-district. The name of the night club was withheld by police pending an ongoing investigation but caters primarily to Thai nationals.

Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find more than ten spent ammo cartridges were found on the ground.

Four people had sustained moderate injuries from bullet wounds who were named as Mr. Chatchai Pinyo, Mr. Phonmaeta, 31, and an unnamed man. One other person suffered a serious injury from a bullet wound, named only as Ms. Rujira, 30.

They were taken to local hospitals with family and relatives meeting the injured at the medical centers.

This morning, October 12, 2020, the Mueang Chonburi Police said suspects from both parties were in custody but also did not specifically name the men to the press. The Pattaya News is seeking more information regarding the suspects and the circumstances behind the shooting.

Local residents who live in the vicinity of this nightclub stated that the venue was previously closed for ten years. It had just been reopened. The incident involved according to witnesses and CCTV footage a motorbike driver wearing nearly all white opening fire at a large group of club patrons and then fleeing the scene.

Mueang Chonburi police are continuing their investigation regarding the incident according to a brief statement. They believed the incident involved a dispute between two opposing parties but are still getting to the bottom of the shooting.
