Two people rescued after large tree falls and hits their moving vehicle during Pattaya area storm

Banglamung, Chonburi-

Two people have been rescued after a large tree fell down and hit their moving pick-up truck in the Pattaya area during heavy rain yesterday.

Rescue workers were notified of the incident at 5:00 PM yesterday in Soi Khao Nern Plubwan.

They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a damaged pickup truck stuck under a large fallen tree.

Ms. Kittiya Chuaam, 37, and Mrs. Khai Chuaam, 61, were stuck inside the pickup truck.

Rescue workers and Pattaya City staff members cut the tree into smaller parts before removing the two stuck occupants from the pickup truck.

Ms. Kittiya told The Pattaya News that it was raining heavily while she was driving the pickup truck.

She heard the sound of something cracking loudly before she realized that a portion of a large tree had fallen down and hit her pickup truck.

Ms. Kittiya and her mother tried to open the pickup truck’s doors but failed. They immediately used a mobile phone to call for assistance. Neither were injured during the incident.

The road was blocked with traffic for a significant distance while the tree was removed.
