Heavy thunderstorms and rain forecast for today for Chonburi and Pattaya as tropical depression hits Vietnam and heads West

Chonburi-

The Thai Meteorological Department has warned that the Eastern region of Thailand is likely to see heavy storms for today and tomorrow as a result of several factors.

The largest of these factors is a catagory two tropical depression set to hit Vietnam later today, October 7.

The storm is then forecast to head West, likely bringing significant rainfall and storms to the Central and Eastern parts of Thailand. Today is likely to see heavy cloud cover and sporadic thunderstorms.

Local residents should be aware of regional flooding and road conditions may be affected by the storms. Early morning storms have already begun in Pattaya as of 2:00 AM on October 7.

The Pattaya News will give further updates on any inclement weather over the next day.
