Chonburi-

A woman escaped from a burning car in Chonburi yesterday, the second person in less than 24 hours in the area to do so.

The Don Huafor Police was notified of the fire at 1:30 PM yesterday on the Sattaphong – Don Huafor Road near an intersection.

Police and fire fighters arrived at the scene to find a burning white car on the road.

Local residents were found to be attempting to help to put out the fire. It took about half an hour for fire fighters to control the fire in total. The fire caused significant damage to the front portion of the vehicle.

The driver, Mrs. Naruemon Boonnark, 56, said she heard an engine alert sound while she was driving.

She attempted to stop the vehicle when she saw smoke and fire coming from the hood, causing her to run from the vehicle before calling for help. She was not injured during the incident.

However, Don Huafor officials are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause.

Meanwhile, a forty-year-old driver barely escaped from a burning car in the Mueang Chonburi district yesterday morning.
