Eight injured in Chonburi five vehicle accident

Eight people were injured in an accident involving five vehicles on a road in Ban Bueang last night.

The Ban Bueng Police were notified of the accident at 6:00 PM yesterday on No. 3138 Road (Ban Bueng – Klongkiw) in the Ban Bueang district.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a trailer truck carrying rocks had crashed into four other vehicles at a traffic light.

Eight people had sustained various injuries. One of them is a one year old baby girl. They were taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

The trailer truck driver, Somyos Witsuwong, 58, told police that he was unable to stop at the traffic light due to alleged brake issues before crashing into the other vehicles.

At this stage, the trailer truck driver has been charged with reckless driving causing injuries.
