Chonburi Tourist Attraction Association President says hotel bookings for upcoming long holiday weekends in Pattaya already pouring in

Pattaya-

With the announcement that the Thai Cabinet has granted two four day holiday weekends in November and December to boost domestic tourism Chonburi Tourism Operators said this morning they are excited and seeing bookings already pour in for hotels.

Ms. Thitipat Siranatsrikul, president of the Chonburi Tourist Attraction Association, spoke with The Pattaya News today and discussed the need for the holidays.

With international tourism still on hold due to borders being closed to general tourists because of the Covid-19 pandemic raging worldwide Ms. Thitipat said the Chonburi area must rely on domestic tourism.

She stated that Pattaya has taken a heavy hit due to the lack of tourists but based on the prior holiday weekend in September the two weekends would likely see a great increase in domestic tourism. She said data on hotels in the area already show significant bookings for the weekends of November 19-22 and December 10-13.

During the prior four day holiday weekend in September she said many hotels saw one hundred percent booking. She also said many local tourist attractions that appealed to Thai tourists did well as did seafood restaurants and entertainment venues.

She also praised the Thai Cabinet’s decision to have the weekends and hoped they would have more as long as international tourists could not visit Thailand. She did admit that many foreign facing businesses were struggling but Thai facing business venues had seen a lot of success over the prior holiday weekends.
