Red flag goes up at Pattaya Bali Hai Pier, tropical storm ‘Noul’ continues

Red flags have been gone up at the Bali Hai Pier this morning to warn boats in regards to the Thai Meteorological Department’s (TMD) latest announcement regarding weather conditions over this weekend.

The Thai Meteorological Department announced yesterday, September 18, that the ‘Noul’ storm is traveling from the middle of the South China Sea and is forecast to move into Mukdahan and other provinces in Northeastern Thailand by this evening, causing heavy to very heavy rain over the weekend.

Yesterday the Pattaya Marine Office has issued a warning to boat captains and operators to beware of storm conditions. Small boats are being advised to stay ashore from yesterday (Sept 18) until tomorrow (Sept 20).

Meanwhile at the Bali Hai Pier this morning, a red flag has been raised to the top of a flagpole out of precaution.

The Pattaya Marine Office noted small boats ‘should’ not go out from the pier. Larger boats should proceed with caution.
