Banglamung-

Local residents were horrified this morning (September 19) while searching for various recycling items in a large dump site to find the corpse of a baby. Police have launched a search for the individual responsible.

Lieutenant Colonal Jeerasak Eabfang from the Nongprue Police was notified of the discovery of a dead newborn baby at a garbage pile at the Nongprue Municipality Dump this morning.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the body of a newborn baby inside a black plastic bag in the garbage pile.

Ms. Sirithon Tapjeen, 38, who first discovered the body, told police that she and some friends were searching for plastic bottles to sell for recycling.

She smelled something rotten before realizing that it was a dead newborn baby.

Police have launched an investigation to find the baby’s mother and/or the person who dumped the child.
