Teenage driver survives after being ran over by a SUV in Chonburi

A teenage driver has sustained only minor injuries after reportedly being ran over by a SUV in Mueang Chonburi.

The Samet Police was notified of the accident at 6:30 PM yesterday on Wat Taopoon – Wat Ketmai Ngam Road in the Samet sub-district.

Emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the teenager, Mr. Poramee Meerot, 16, who had sustained only minor injuries. He was taken to a local hospital.

Nearby, rescue workers found a damaged motorbike and an SUV. The SUV driver refused to give any details regarding the accident to the press, including their name.

A witness, Ms. Parinee Kaewsanga, 31, told The Pattaya News that the teenager on the motorbike fell off his bike on a corner and shortly after the wheel of the SUV ran over his shoulder area.

She told Pattaya News reporters that she shouted to the SUV driver to move the SUV off from the teenager and stop the vehicle.

Other witnesses believed that the teenage driver was very lucky as they thought that he would die. However, he had sustained only minor injuries.

Mueang Chonburi police are reviewing CCTV and conducting a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
