Driver breaks both legs after his pickup truck crashes into a tree in Chonburi

Chonburi-

A twenty-five-year old driver sustained serious injuries after his pickup truck slammed into a tree 500 meters before arriving home in Panat Nikhom, Chonburi last night.

The Panat Nikhom Police and Sawanghet rescue workers were notified of the accident at 9:00 PM on Thung Heang – Panat Nikhom Road.

They arrived at the scene to find a heavily damaged pickup truck near a tree on the side of the road.

The driver, Mr. Likit Thongpang, 25, was stuck inside the cab. It took about 20 minutes for rescue workers to free him with a hydraulic cutter.

He had broken both legs. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance. Local residents told rescue workers that the driver is a local here and his house is only 500 meters from the scene.

Police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of the accident.
