Thai elderly and disabled citizens will not receive their pensions this month as the Comptroller General’s Department (CGD) has run out of budget for September.

Wilawan Phayanoi, a spokeswoman with the Comptroller General’s Department, said that the department is required to review the budget every month for eligible elderly and disabled civilians, unfortunately, the budget in September 2020 was not enough,

The CGD, therefore, is under the process of requesting more budget to the government in order to pay out the allowance, supposedly within this month.

“The CGD cares and understands the necessity of all eligible persons. Once the budget has been received by the Institute, we will proceed to urgently pay them within September,” said the spokeswoman.
