Pattaya-
The fifth annual Bikini Beach Run will be held in Pattaya next month in a special night time Halloween edition.
A planning meeting was held this week and was led by the Pattaya City Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Eakkasing, who is responsible for events.
Deputy Mayor Ronnakit told The Pattaya News, “The Bikini Beach Race 2020 is aimed to boost Pattaya domestic tourism. Thais and foreigners can take part in the five kilometer run along the Pattaya Beach. Everyone is welcome to register and sign up for the event. Registration booths will be at Pattaya Central Festival closer to the date.”
“This is the fifth year of the event which will be held on October 31st. It will be the biggest bikini run yet and we expect many people will join. It will have a glow in the dark theme to fit Halloween and be run at night. ” Ronnakit added.
The Bikini Beach Race 2020 will run from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The event will be on the same day as Halloween Day, which is generally one of the busiest days of the year in Pattaya, growing in popularity yearly with both Thais and foreigners. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however, it is likely international tourists will be limited, if any, this year.
Halloween makeup for free will be provided for people who join in the event. There will be concerts and a festival from famous singers until 11:00 PM on the beach. All events will follow hygiene standards for Covid-19.
