Local business operator warns public of alleged alcohol supply scammer in Banglamung

A bar beer owner and tour operator in Banglamung has warned local residents of an alleged scammer who reportedly defrauds customers by posing as a fake alcohol supplier.

The bar beer and tour operator in Soi Boonkanjanaran 3, Nongprue, told The Pattaya News that the suspect reportedly used their company documents and license to defraud tour customers to buy brandy in which after the victims lost more than a hundred thousand baht.

The tour company owner, Ms. Saraphon Onnum and her staffer Ms. Orrapan Janket told The Pattaya News that the suspect (Mr A, no further information given by law enforcement during an active investigation) is a tour agent who previously provided customers for her company through a referral program.

One of her tour customers, whose information was not given pending the results of a potential legal case, reportedly directly contacted the suspect and the suspect reportedly sold brandy to them for 2,800 baht per box.

The client agreed to buy 100 boxes which cost 280,000 baht. The client paid for a deposit with 140,000 baht.

The suspect, Mr. A, made a fake receipt by using the tour company ID number and documents without permission, according to the owners. However, after receiving the deposit, the suspect vanished with the money leaving the client with no brandy and 140,000 baht down.

The company owner has already reported the incident to police as well as the press. Ms. Onnum wanted to warn other residents and clients that before purchasing alcohol from a supplier to do research and be careful during this time as there were many scams and this scam agent had also damaged her company reputation by using their name without permission.
