Alleged deranged man stabs taxi driver, causes five car accident then stabs himself multiple times in Bangkok

Bangkok –

An allegedly mentally deranged man has ended up injuring himself after harassing several passersby and stabbing a taxi driver in the Charan Sanitwong road area of Bangkok yesterday, September 7.

Officials from the Bangkok Noi Police Station were alerted about the horrifying incident around 7:40 PM and arrived at the scene where a five-car collision was found on the road.

Victim Manasawin Netthong, 33, told the officials that the alleged attacker, whose name was not given by police, was running out of Soi Charan Sanitwong 23 to the road while carrying a long sharp knife.

He attempted to open passing vehicle doors and eventually got into the back seat of a pink taxi in which Manasawin was driving.

The alleged mad man reportedly started to quickly stab the driver. He had managed to dodge and fight back but instead lost control of the car, resulting in a collision accident between five vehicles.

The alleged assaulter then rushed out of the taxi after the traffic delay and was seen aggressively stabbing himself on the street multiple times. He was delivered to Sirirat hospital shortly after officers arrived and calmed him down.

Manasawin along with other victims were taken to the police station for further questioning regarding the incident. Meanwhile, investigators were waiting for the alleged attacker to recover and for medical confirmation whether he is mentally deranged before conducting an interrogation. He was initially charged for committing physical assault.
