Officials asked to investigate after man caught on video collecting parking fees at Pattaya Walking Street

Pattaya-

City Officials are being asked by local residents to investigate after a Thai man was caught on video collecting parking fees from tourists at Pattaya Walking Street this week.

After receiving complaints last night, the Pattaya News reporters went to Pattaya Walking Street. An unidentified Thai man was waving drivers in with a light for street parking spaces. After that, he asked them for money. The Pattaya News notes street parking is free.

One of the drivers told The Pattaya News that after the Thai man managed to get him to park his car, he waited for his money without saying the amount.

The driver was afraid that the man might attack him or damage his car, so he gave money to him. The exact amount given was not disclosed.

Locals and tourists have urged officials to investigate as it is public area where everyone can park with no parking fee. The Pattaya News reminds readers that street parking is free across the city in legal parking spaces.
