32 year old Burmese man brutally beaten in Pattaya by group of unidentified males

Pattaya-

A 32 year old Burmese man was brutally beaten by a group of unidentified men in the Nongprue area this morning around 1:00 AM.

The incident took place near the Department of Land in Nongprue.

The man, who was named by Nongprue Police only as Mr. Aree, had been beaten with a belt with iron buckles and suffered several injuries including to his left eye.

A friend of Mr. Aree’s, who did not give his name to reporters, stated that they had been drinking Ya Dong in a group of about four men. Two other men became involved in an argument with Mr. Aree and attacked him, fleeing after the incident. The belt supposedly used in the attack was found nearby.

Nongprue Police will be fully interviewing Mr. Aree in the morning after he sobers up and to get more information on his attackers. The witness claimed he did not know the men who attacked Aree. Police are also reviewing CCTV in the vicinity to gather more information.

The Pattaya News plans to provide more details on this incident pending review of the CCTV and interview with the victim tomorrow.
