Truck driver killed in Chonburi accident

Chonburi-

A 38 year old driver has died at the scene of the accident yesterday after his truck crashed into a power pole in Panat Nikhom.

The Panat Nikom Police was notified of the accident at 6:30 PM yesterday on Phanat Nikhom – Chachoengsao Road in the Wat Luang sub-district.

Sawanghet rescue workers arrived at the scene with the Phanat Nikhom Police.

At the scene they found a heavily damaged truck had slammed into a power pole off the road.

Inside the truck they found the body of the driver Mr. Noppadol Chompuken, 38, stuck in the cab.

It took about 20 minutes to free him from the truck with a hydraulic cutter. His remains were taken to a local hospital.

At this stage police believed that the truck was driving at high speed in the rain. The truck had lost control before crashing into a power pole on the side of the road.

However, police are checking CCTV footage nearby to find the exact cause of the accident.
