Sea turtle found dead on Jomtien Beach

At 8:00 PM last night on Jomtien Beach near Soi 17 a recently deceased sea turtle washed ashore in front of a large group of tourists and locals.

The turtle appeared to have recently died according to Marine Rescue workers and was approximately 50 kilograms and about fifteen years old. A video of the incident can be found below taken by our team.

The turtle will be take to the Marine Turtle Conservation Center in Sattahip for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Sea turtles are protected in the Pattaya area and have natural nesting grounds on nearby islands like Koh Khram.
