Motorbike driver killed after being run over by eighteen wheel truck in Chonburi

A thirty year old motorbike driver was pronounced dead after being run over by an eighteen wheeler truck in Panthong earlier this week.

The Panthong Police was notified of the accident on Thursday, July 16, on Sukhumvit – Panthong Road in Baan Kao.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the body of the motorbike driver, Mr. Suphat Jampatoom, 30, a security guard from Surin, at the truck wheels. His heavily damaged motorbike was nearby. Suphat had died nearly instantly according to rescue workers.

The truck driver, Saweand Chamnahan, 52, told police that Suphat appeared to have lost control of his motorbike before falling off in front of him. He was unable to stop in time to prevent running over the victim, Saweand added.

Saweand has been charged with reckless driving causing death, according to Panthong Police.
