Chance of possibly heavy thunderstorms in Pattaya area over next 24 hours

Chonburi-

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has called for a forty percent chance of thunderstorms over the next 24 hours in the Chonburi area, warning they could be heavy at times.

A Southwest monsoon currently prevails over the Andaman Sea along with a strong Southeast wind over the gulf of Thailand. These factors, according to the TMD, could see sporadic but heavy scattered thunderstorms in the North and East of Thailand. This includes Chonburi, where Pattaya is located.

The TMD calls for a forty percent chance of rain in the Pattaya area today with the strongest chance of showers early this morning and late this evening. Scattered thundershowers were already seen in some parts of Banglamung earlier this morning, The Pattaya News notes.
