20 year old motorbike driver killed in Chonburi accident

A 20 year old motorbike driver was pronounced dead yesterday after getting reportedly run over by a ten wheeler truck in a Chonburi traffic related accident.

The Samet Police was notified of the accident at 10:00 AM yesterday morning at Soi Keeree Nakhon 12 in the Huay Kapi sub-district.

Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene to find a heavily damaged motorbike.

The body of the motorbike driver, 20 year old Mr. Sathaphon Seedee, was found near the motorbike. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical staff.

The truck driver, 61 year old Boonrot Thongwijit, told police that he was making a left hand turn and properly using his turn signal when the accident occurred.

Sathaphon was trying to overtake the truck from the left hand side according to Boonrot. Boonrot did not see Sathaphon leading to the accident. Sathaphon was wearing a helmet, however, was killed instantly when he was ran over by the larger vehicle.

Boonrot is facing charges of reckless driving causing a death according to Samet police.
