More rain likely on the way for Pattaya area, says Thai Meteorological Department

Thailand-

The Thai Meteorological Department, TMD, has updated their daily weather warnings, cautioning that substantial heavy rain is still expected for large parts of Thailand today.

The rainstorms are being caused by a combination of a monsoon in the Andaman Sea and a low pressure cell covering Laos and Vietnam, says the TMD.

A 70 percent chance of thunderstorms is expected in the Chonburi area today with storms likely taking place in the afternoon and early evening, the TMD advised. Regular brisk winds, slightly cool for the area, are also expected.

This follows several days of sporadic rainstorms in the area, which local residents have stated on social media comments is well needed
