Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, the spokesperson for the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced zero new confirmed and recorded cases of Covid-19 in Thailand today.
Today is the 21 day in a row with zero new confirmed cases of locally spread cases in the country. The Kingdom of Thailand has reported several imported cases during the time period from Thai Nationals returning from overseas who go directly into state quarantine.
The CCSA has stated their current goal is to reach at least 28 days in a row with no locally spread cases in the country to feel confident that the virus is not still present in asymptomatic carriers.
Today also marks the first day of Phase Four, in which nearly all closed businesses in the country are allowed to re-open, with the notable exception of nightlife and entertainment related venues like bars and pubs.
Thailand has had a total of 58 deaths in the country since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak and was recently ranked second in the world by an independent research group for their recovery from the Covid-19 crisis.
