The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has warned of the potential of heavy rain and thunderstorms for a large swath of Thailand effective for the next several days.
The warning comes due to a combination of a Southwest monsoon across the Andaman sea and Thailand as well as a low pressure cell that is currently covering upper parts of Vietnam and Laos.
Officials with the TMD have warned that the next two days could bring the potential of heavy rain and storms, including in the Pattaya and Chonburi areas.

Due to the strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and Thailand, and the low-pressure cell covers upper Laos and upper Vietnam. More rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rain are likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East, and the South regions.
People in those risky areas should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and water runoff.
Affected areas are as followings:

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Kalasin, Mukdahan,
Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Sisaket
and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Ang Thong, Sing Buri, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Nakhon Pathom,
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, Satun, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla.
