Department of Special Investigations arrest 118 people at illegal casino in Rayong, Thailand-Video

Officers have raided a large illegal gambling den in Rayong yesterday where 118 gamblers in total were arrested. Twelve million baht per day was allegedly being circulated in the gambling den.

Yesterday, officers from the Department of Provincial Administration and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) raided a large gambling den named ‘RJ’ in the Mueang Rayong district. The raid came after an extensive investigation by agents.

The gambling den takes up a total area of 600 square metres. There are many illegal gambling games in the underground casino, including slot machines.

In total, 118 gamblers have been arrested. Many of the gamblers were from the Pattaya area. Officers have found that there was at least 12 million baht that was being generated in the gambling den.

Those arrested are facing charges with illegal gambling and violating the emergency decree to control the Covid19 Coronavirus, which currently prohibits mass gatherings.

Any illegal acts or venues can be reported to the Ministry of Interior Hotline, 1567, DSI officers added to the press.
