Thailand confirms 17 new cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus, all imported cases from overseas

Bangkok-

The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration confirmed seventeen new confirmed cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus this morning at a daily press conference.

All seventeen cases are imported from Thai Nationals returning from overseas who went immediately into state quarantine. None were found locally, making today the tenth day in a row nationwide with no locally spread cases.

Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, the spokesperson of the CCSA, stated that thirteen of the cases were from Thai Nationals returning from Kuwait and the remainder from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

This was the highest single day total of new cases in several weeks, he added, showing that border control and quarantines for all returning from overseas is needed and that although the situation internally was under control the situation around the world was not.

Thailand has had a total of 3,101 cases since the start of the outbreak. This number includes imported cases. 2968 cases have been recovered and released from hospitals. There are 75 people under treatment for the disease nationwide and have been 58 deaths.
