Laotian motorbike driver dies after colliding with vehicle in Pattaya area

A Laotian motorbike driver died after colliding with another vehicle in Khao Maikaew early this morning.

Captain Phonchai Luaphon of the Huayyai Police was notified of the accident at 5:00 AM at Khao Maikaew Intersection on Road No 331.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a heavily damaged vehicle. The female driver, whose name was with held by police pending a further investigation, was waiting for officials at the scene. She was uninjured.

On the side of the road rescue workers found a damaged motorbike. The motorbike driver, 31 year old Praiwan Promjan, Laotian national, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The car driver told police that the Mr. Promjan allegedly immediately cut in front of her vehicle trying to cross lanes. She was unable to avoid the collision.

Banglamung police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action and reviewing CCTV in the vicinity.
