Thailand announces 5 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, three are imported

Bangkok-

The Center for Covid19 Situation Administration Spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin announced a total of five new confirmed cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus nationwide this morning at a Bangkok press conference.

Three of the cases were imported from Thai national recently returned from overseas who went immediately to state quarantine. One was from America and two from Pakistan.

The remaining two cases came from close contacts of previous confirmed cases in Bangkok and Narathiwat.

There were no additional recorded deaths from the virus and the total number of deaths since the virus began stands at 56.

Seven more cases were discharged from hospitals overnight.

Dr. Taweesin also stated that he has received reports of four likely new cases in Phuket, however they came in this morning after the deadline for the daily results and will need to be verified and confirmed by the CCSA which will address them tomorrow.
