Five days in a row for no new Covid19 cases for Chonburi, Banglamung at eleven days

Chonburi-

The Chonburi Government released through their social media channels this morning an update on the current situation with the Covid19 Coronavirus in the province.

Today is the fifth day with zero new confirmed cases of the virus in Chonburi. Banglamung, the region where Pattaya is based, has had no new confirmed cases since April 19. Pattaya City proper has reached fourteen days, two weeks, or one whole quarantine incubation period with zero new cases.

The two cases recorded on April 19 were very close contacts of a previous case. The only cases in Chonburi since April 19 were two cases in Phan Thong, located in the far North of Chonburi close to Bangkok.

One additional patient has fully recovered from the virus in Banglamung, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 71.

Chonburi has had a total of 87 cases since the start of the infections. 78 people are under investigation, however this doesn’t mean they have symptoms or being tested but are identified as potential high risk for various reasons, such as working in buildings with previous confirmed cases or high exposure to the public and crowded areas.

A highly anticipated announcement from the Chonburi Government is due today or tomorrow on possibly easing some restrictions and allowing reopening of some businesses. The Pattaya News will keep our readers informed as soon as this is announced.
