Thailand announces seven new confirmed cases of Covid-19 but two additional deaths

Bangkok-

The Thai Government, in a press conference led by the Covid19 Coronavirus Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesperson Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin announced this morning only seven new confirmed cases of the Covid19 Coronavirus in the Kingdom of Thailand.

Five of the new cases are very close contacts of prior confirmed cases, one is under investigation and one was in a crowded location with a previous case. The cases were in Phuket, Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima. Chonburi has had no cases.

Additionally, two deaths were recorded, one in Bangkok.

In total Thailand has had 2,938 cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus. Of those, 2,652 have been recovered and released with 43 of those released in the past twenty four hours. There have been 54 deaths in total.

Only 232 patients remain in hospitals across the country being treated for the virus.

The Thai Cabinet is expected to meet this afternoon and discuss the extension of the emergency decree, which would continue measures to control the spread of the Covid19 Coronavirus for another month. It is expected, however, they will discuss measures to ease some restrictions.
