Thailand hits single digits of new cases of Covid-19 Coronavirus with only 9 new confirmed cases

Bangkok-

The Spokesman of the Covid-19 Coronavirus Situation Administration Center, Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, announced at a press conference in Bangkok this afternoon that Thailand has entered the single digits with only nine new confirmed cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus.

This is the first time the numbers have hit this low level since the infection and outbreak intensified in Thailand and shut down tens of thousands of businesses, putting millions out of work, in March.

There was one additional death, a Thai woman with previous health issues and underlying medical conditions. This brings the total number of deaths in the country to 52 since the start of the outbreak.

Of the nine new cases, two were imported from repatriated Thai citizens entering state quarantine. Only seven cases were locally spread cases.

Of those seven, four were from Yala in the Deep South near the Malaysian Border which has become the hot spot of the country. The other three are previous close contacts of prior confirmed cases.

Fifteen more people were released and fully recovered from the Coronavirus as well.

Of the 2,931 cases in the country, 2609 have fully recovered.
