Bangkok-
At a daily Covid19 Press Conference, Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman for the Center of the COVID-19 Situation Administration, confirmed 111 new cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus, 42 of them being recent Thai Nationals who were brought back from Indonesia by The Thai Government, placed in quarantine and tested and confirmed with the virus.
Additionally, three deaths, all foreigners, were confirmed and added to the National numbers. These included a 48 year old Russian man, who we previously reported on, in Chonburi who had recently returned from a trip to Phuket with his wife and child. His wife is a real estate agent in the Pattaya area and had posted in public on social media regarding her loss.
The other two deaths were a 69 year old Indian Businessman who also had diabetes and heart disease as well as a 69 year old American man with previous health issues in Buri Ram.
37 cases today were direct close contacts of previous confirmed cases as well, showing contact tracing is continuing to work well, according to Dr. Taweesin.
Dr. Taweesin also stressed that although overall numbers were starting to go in the right direction that this was NOT the time to let up on social distancing and wearing masks and that staying home was the best way to fight this virus and allows everyone to resolve the situation faster and return to work.
