Mentally ill man causes disturbance and public indecency at Chonburi 7-11

Chonburi –
A mentally disabled man attempted to steal items from a 7-Eleven and performed indecent acts in public yesterday morning in Chonburi.

The Samet Police was notified of the incident yesterday morning around 10:00 AM at a 7-Eleven in a gas station in Southern Mueang Chonburi.

Police arrived at the scene to find a 65 year old Thai man, whose name was withheld due to his medical condition, in a confused state and shirtless.

He was taken to a local hospital for assistance after police discovered he had a previous history of mental illness.

Staffers at the 7-Eleven told police that the man had picked up many items but refused to pay and attempted to leave the shop with the items.

The suspect, after being stopped from attempting to leave the convenience store without paying for his goods, allegedly began flashing his genitals to female staffers.

The gas station manager, however, decided to pay for all the food items for the suspect and did not file an official report to police, asking for no charges to be filed.

Police have complied with the request and stated they are helping the man with medical assistance.
