Thailand announces 89 confirmed new cases of Covid-19

Bangkok-

The Thailand Ministry of Public Health and Department of Disease Control have announced 89 confirmed new cases of the Covid19 Coronavirus this morning , the highest single daily increase so far.

51 cases are attached to previous clusters.

The details for this group are as follows:

  • boxing gym cluster 32
  • night club cluster in bkk 2
  • religious ceremony in Malaysia and the South of Thailand 6
  • Close contacts and relatives of previous confirmed cases 11

As for the 38 new cases:

12 are people recently back from abroad who were detected at airport screening. 6 are people who directly worked with foreigners. The remaining twenty are still in the process of contact tracing.

This brings the total number of cases in Thailand to 411, with 44 people recovered and 366 being treated at hospitals. One fatality was previously recorded, a man who also had dengue fever.
