Woman allegedly strangles her husband to death in Chonburi after argument

Chonburi-

A 48 year old man was pronounced dead on Sunday of this week in Chonburi after a domestic argument with his wife, who allegedly admitted to strangling him to death.

The incident took place at a rental room on Soi Thikhamek in the Bang Pla sub-district at 10:30 PM Sunday night.

Captain Ying Hassin of the Chon Buri police, rescue staff and the Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find many concerned neighbors gathered around the door to the room, which had been left open and unlocked.

The body of 48 year old Phiphok Karnkarn was on the bed, showing obvious signs of distress. The room also had signs of a violent argument.

His wife, 41 year old Trirat, had fled the scene but surrendered to Chonburi police yesterday, Monday morning.

She allegedly told the police she had strangled her husband to death, but he had hit her first.

Neighbors stated to the Pattaya News they had heard a loud verbal argument prior to the incident.

She remains in police custody facing charges of murder.
