BANGKOK —

The Thailand Ministry of Health said today a British man flying from Hong Kong is the newest coronavirus patient in Thailand.

The Health permanent secretary Sukhum Kanchanapimai told the press today that the man became the 48th confirmed case after he tested positive for the new strain of COVID19 coronavirus.

Sukhum continued by saying the man went to a hospital Tuesday of this week after he developed symptoms of the novel Coronavirus.

The patient travelled from the United Kingdom via a transit in Hong Kong on Feb. 29, he said.

The Ministry is tracing his contacts and travel history since arriving in the country.
